FAQs
Q. What does National Rehab do?
A. National Rehab provides orthopedic bracing, orthotics, prosthetics,
lymphedema pumps, wound care, ostomy and urological supplies directly to patients in their
homes. We then bill their insurances for the supplies thereby eliminating the need for
patients to seek their own supplies from a DME provider or pharmacy.
Q. Can you provide service and supplies to Medicaid and Medicare patients?
A. Yes. National Rehab is contracted with Medicare and many state Medicaids across the country.
Q. What insurance companies does National Rehab have contracts with?
A. We have contracts with many of the major insurance providers in your area. We add insurance company contracts on an ongoing basis and will be happy to contact any carrier necessary to assist you in caring for your patients' needs. Refer to the insurance section of our website for a list of current contracts or click here.
Q. Who is responsible for getting the insurance authorizations for O&P products?
A. National Rehab employs a team of authorization specialists experienced in all of the protocols, requirements and technicalities involved in beginning the authorization process. National Rehab will contact the ordering physician when applicable and insurance company to verify coverage and obtain authorization for the product.
Q. Are all products covered by my insurance company?
A. Coverage varies from one insurance company to the next. National Rehab's authorization team will find out when verifying each
patient's insurance if the product will be a covered item.
Q. Who will inform the patient of the steps that must be taken prior to a patient receiving their product?
A. As soon as National Rehab receives the order, we will contact the patient to inform them of the authorization or verification
process and an approximate time frame on how long the process will take to complete. We will then follow up with the patient every 3 days
throughout the authorization process to inform them of the status of their order.
Q. Where are orthotic and prosthetic patients fit with their product?
A. National Rehab has a scheduler on staff that will contact the patient to set up an appointment at one of our patient care centers strategically located throughout the Tri-State area. All offices are by appointment only. Please see the patient locations section of our web site for a complete listing of our locations.
Q. What patient information is needed in order to process an order?
A. In order to process an order we must have the following: patient's demographics, diagnosis, insurance information or a copy of insurance cards, and a prescription for the needed product.
Q. How much will a patient have to pay for their product?
A. It depends on the insurance plan and the patient's policy. All patients will be responsible for any co-pays or deductibles that their insurance company may have in place.
